Bali in Depth, with Lombok & Yogyakarta This tour includes daytrips to Lombok & Yogyakarta along with cultural events and Bali's most important sightseeing attractions. Day 1 Arrival transfer from the airport to your hotel in Ubud. Five nights accommodations. Day 2 Today's full day excursion includes a performance of the Barong & Kris dance and visits to Kintamani, Tampaksiring holy spring temple and the temples of Bangli. Day 3 Morning tour to the art centers of Bali including Tohpati (batiks), Celuk (gold and silver works), Mas (wood-carving) and Ubud (painting). Afternoon at leisure. Day 4 Today's full day excursion visits the eastern part of Bali, including Karangasem, the fishing village of Kusamba, Bat Cave temple, Tenganan village, Water Garden Tirta Gangga and Palace of Karangesem. In the evening attend a performance of the primitive Kecak dance. Day 5 Morning visit to the Bird Park and Reptile Park. In the afternoon you'll visit a gamelan maker and a dukun (medicine man), where you'll learn about healing with traditional medicines and magical drawings. In the late afternoon visit Petulu to see the white herons return to roost. In the evening attend a performance of the Legong dance. Day 6 Transfer to the north of Bali. Along the way you'll visit a village elementary school and will stop at a mountain village where you'll see a demonstration, have a short lesson, and participate in playing the instruments of the village gamelan orchestra. You'll also have a lesson in how to make a temple offering. Before arriving at your hotel, a stop will be made at Pulaki monkey temple. Two nights accommodations at Tamansari Cottages in Pemuteran. Day 7 Snorkel excursion to Menjangan Island including equipment and lunch. Day 8 Transfer to the south of Bali. Sightseeing along the way will include Bedugul, the fruit and flower market, Lake Beratan, Ulun Danu Temple and Munduk Waterfall where you can take a short hike. You'll be driving through an area with some of the most spectacular rice terraces in Bali. At Munduk village you'll have a cooking lesson at Puri Lumbung, a small hotel that overlooks the rice terraces. Five nights accommodations at Legian, Seminyak, Kuta, Sanur beaches or Jimbaran Bay. Day 9 Transfer to the pier for your daytrip to Lombok. Upon disembarking the express boat, sightsee Senggigi Beach, Batu Bolong Temple, Mayura Water Palace, Narmada, Lingsar and Suranadi. Return to Bali and your hotel. (Option of flying to Lombok is also available.) Day 10 Morning at leisure. In the afternoon you'll visit Royal Temple Taman Ayun, Alas Kedaton holy monkey forest and Tanah Lot sea temple, where you'll arrive in time to see the sunset. Day 11 Your day trip to Yogyakarta includes roundtrip airfare and sightseeing at Borobudur, Mendut and Perambanan temples, the Sultan's Palace and the city. Return to Bali in the evening and transfer to your hotel. (An optional elephant ride at Borobudur is available in lieu of Perambanan. Add $35 per person to the prices below.) Day 12 Day at leisure to enjoy the beach. Day 13 Transfer to the airport. Prices, including daily American breakfast:
