Our exclusive Bali Village Stays are the ultimate in "meet-the-people " experiences. Choose from our one-night "Village Life" package, or our three-night "Village & Beach Life" combination package. Or, opt for a Village day-trip, with transfers from most areas of Bali. During the your visit to this off-the-beaten-path rural village, you'll share meals with the villagers, visit a local elementary school and participate in farming and other village activities. The villagers are warm, welcoming and appreciative of your interest in seeing how they live. Whichever option you choose, we promise you a memorable time - one which only a handful of tourists will ever experience. Day 1 - This tour is designed to give you an overview of rural life in Bali. Begin by visiting a village elementary schoo where you'll donate school supplies (supplies included in price). You'll then visit a farmer in his field to observe farming activities, including rice-cultivating by traditional methods. You're more than welcome to try your hand at ox-plowing or planting rice. Then join the village gamelan orchestra in playing their exotic musical instruments. You'll have lunch in the village compound and will have a lesson in how to make a temple offering and a woven bamboo hat. You'll also take a soft rice field trek, before transferring back to your hotel. Roundtrip transfers from hotels in most areas of Bali are included. Accommodations are not included. Price: Day 1 - Transfer from most areas of Bali, to the mountain village of Pacut. Along the way you'll see the spectacular rice fields of Jatiluwih. You'll also visit Batukaru mountain temple. This evening you'll join the villagers for dinner. You'll also enjoy entertainment by the village gamelan orchestra, as well as a performance of the Mask Dance. Feel free to join the dance, or to participate in playing the gamelan instruments. Overnight stay in the village compound. Day 2 - After breakfast in the village compound, you'll have a lesson in how to make a temple offering and a woven bamboo hat. You'll then visit a natural hot spring where you can have a relaxing soak. After an easy walk around the village you'll return to your home base to assist in preparing traditional tools for use by the farmers. You'll then be invited to participate in planting or cultivating rice - or simply observe the farmers at work. Continue to a local elementary school (subject to school being in session) where you'll present a donation of school supplies (supplies are included). You'll then transfer to the airport, or to a hotel in most areas of Bali. Price: Day 1 - Transfer from most areas of Bali, to the mountain village of Pacut. Day 3 - This morning you'll take a snorkel excursion to Menjangan Island. Afternnoon at leisure. Breakfast and lunch are included. Day 4 - After your included breakfast you'll transfer to your choice of Sanur, Nusa Dua, Kuta or Ubud, following visits to Munduk Waterfall, Ulun Danu Temple at Lake Beratan and the spice, flower and fruit market at Candikuning. Price: guests are asked to dress modestly. Prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Reduced rates are available for groups of five or more people.
